Golden Arrows
Position swing from last season: -3
Top scorer in all comps: Nduduzo Sibiya & Knox Mutizwa (3 goals)
Highs: Won opening two games for the first time; completed the double over Chiefs.
Lows: First-round exits in both Cups, including a 5-0 loss to Sundowns
7 – Arrows won just seven league games all season, their fewest since 2013/14 when they were relegated (6).
Magesi
Position swing from last season: N/A
Top scorer in all comps: Delano Abrahams (5 goals)
Highs: Won the Carling Knockout, the first newly promoted club to do so
Lows: One win in the first nine games; bottom of the table at the halfway mark
6 – Magesi won 6 consecutive home games under Owen da Gama. No coach had gone on a longer run post-LOCKDOWN (2020/21+) until then.
Marumo Gallants
Position swing from last season: N/A
Top scorer in all comps: Gabadinho Mhango (5 goals)
Highs: Cup semi-final appearances; major revival under Abdeslam Ouaddou
Lows: Just 4 wins in first 18 games; and the league’s worst defence
39 – Marumo Gallants conceded 39 goals in the league this season, more than any other team.
Orlando Pirates
Position swing from last season: 11
Top scorer in all comps: Tshegofatso Mabasa (15 goals)
Highs: MTN8 winners; reached Nedbank Cup final; 11-point league improvement (the best of all teams)
Lows: Fell short in all three major competitions despite some record-setting numbers
2.18 – Pirates averaged 2.18 points per game this season, the 2nd highest ratio in PSL history by a team that failed to win the title (Chiefs had 2.21 in 1998/99).
