On Sundowns’ comeback
1 - This was the first time Sundowns won a CAF away game despite conceding the first goal (W0 D7 L32 before then, since 1994).
Peter Shalulile nears Nomvethe
122 - The goal against Maniema was Shalulile’s 122nd in the top-flight (95 at Sundowns, 27 at Highlands Park). Only Siyabonga Nomvethe (129) has more goals among players in the PSL era.
On Rele Mofokeng
20 years 74 days - Relebohile Mofokeng is the youngest-ever Orlando Pirates player to score in back-to-back CAF matches in the same CAF campaign.
Steve Lekoelea scored in back-to-back games at age 18y277d but in different seasons (the last CAF game of 1997/98 and the 1st game of 1998/99)
On Orlando Pirates’ progress
5 - This is the fifth time that Pirates have reached the Last 8 of the African Cup/CAF Champions League (also 1995, 1996, 2006, and 2013).
On Stellenbosch’s progress
1 - Stellies have progressed to the Last 8 in their first CAF participation. The last PSL side to reach the last 8 in their debut CAF season was Marumo Gallants (2022/23).

On Arrows victory
5 - Since the beginning of 2021, Golden Arrows have won more league games against Kaizer Chiefs than vs any other side (5).
On Boyeli’s hat trick
2 - Andy Boyeli is only the second Congolese player to score a league hat-trick in PSL history, after Bunene Nganduane for Qwa Qwa Stars against Vaal Professionals in March 1998.
On SuperSport’s goalscoring woes
5 - SuperSport have scored just 5 goals in 13 games this season, their worst-ever total at this stage of a campaign, and the first time they have less than 10 goals at this point.
On Chiefs
1 - Chiefs mustered just 1 shot on target against Arrows, their joint-fewest in a game this season (1 also v TS Galaxy). The last time Chiefs had fewer shots on target was two years ago in January 2023 vs Sundowns (0).
On Magesi’s struggles
4 - Magesi has scored 4 goals in 12 games this season. Only 1996/97 Witbank Aces and 2021/22 Swallows FC (both 3) have had fewer goals at this stage of a PSL season.
